bioprocessH2O's MBBR systems use unique biofilm media carriers that provide a protected surface area for the acclimation of bacteria. The bacteria breaks down varying elements of the wastewater, leading to a more effective filtration process. If you are familiar with our MBR systems, the carriers are used instead of the activated sludge process. Due to this and the aeration process these systems use less energy than Membrane Bioreactors, as well. The microorganisms are then sloughed off of the media and are discharged with the treated water.
