MANN+HUMMEL · Selective rejection nanofiltration
Product Information

Dimensional notes: Element dimensions follow the manufacturer's drawing: A is length and B is diameter. Permeate tube dimension C is the outer diameter for male tubes and inner diameter for female tubes. No ±1 mm dimensional tolerance is stated in the supplied datasheet.
Spiral-wound nanofiltration for water purification, with selective rejection of divalent and polyvalent ions while allowing monovalent ions to pass.

Important qualifications
- Flow rates will be no more than 15% below the values shown. Product specifications may change without notice as design revisions occur.
- All models have diamond-shaped feed spacers.
- Dimension C is the inner diameter for female elements and the outer diameter for male elements. Male elements have a protruding permeate tube; dimension D is 1.05 in (26.7 mm).
- Shipping weight depends on packaging material and quantity shipped.
- Refer to the temperature and pH limits in Membrane Cleaning Guide – Water Application Elements (TSG-C-001).
- Pretreatment is recommended to remove free chlorine and other oxidizing agents. Contact with polyamide membranes may shorten operating life or cause membrane failure. Oxidation damage is excluded from warranty; refer to Membrane Operating Guide – Recommendations for Water Purification (TSG-O-012).
- The family-level construction description specifies fiberglass outerwrap; the model-specific outerwrap table lists Tape for the 4040 model. This page follows the model-specific table for outerwrap and pressure rating.
Start-up, cleaning & storage
Before operation, flush elements for 30 minutes at low pressure and discard permeate during the flush. See Element Start-Up Guide – System Start-Up (TSG-O-005). Clean periodically to ensure proper operation and prevent membrane damage; see Membrane Cleaning Guide – Water Application Elements (TSG-C-001). Store appropriately; see Element Storage Guides (TSG-O-009 & TSG-O-010).
