The Problem

The Grand Central Sanitary Landfill needed to upgrade the existing Sequencing Batch Reactor (SBR) to a Membrane BioReactor (MBR) to increase treatment capacity, effluent quality, and eliminate pumping & hauling of leachate offsite.

The Solution

bioprocessH2O designed and supplied a bioFLOW™ Ultrafiltration (UF) equipment package that was integrated into the existing site. The existing aeration tanks and ancillary equipment were incorporated into the design.

The Results

The bioFLOW™ MBR System effectively meets all treatment goals and effluent requirements for discharge to the local municipality and eliminates costly pumping & hauling of leachate offsite.
