Is Your Current Wastewater Treatment System Overloaded?

This is just one example how we helped a ship repair company increase their daily wastewater treatment capacity.

This is just one example how we helped a ship repair company increase their daily wastewater treatment capacity.

Problem: One of the largest ship repair company’s existing wastewater treatment plant was overloaded and undersized to effectively treat the wastewater pumped to the facility from Cruise Liners being repaired by the shipyard.

Solution: bioprocessH2O supplied an equipment package to retrofit and upgrade the existing water treatment system converting the conventional activated sludge system into a bioFAS™ MBBR biological treatment process. The bioFAS™ attached growth fixed film process upgrade allowed the Shipyard facility to use the existing WWTP infrastructure to increase its rated capacity of the wastewater treatment plant from 80,000 GPD up to 264,000 GPD. The bioprocessH2O equipment package also included a new fine screen, pH adjustment capabilities for the EQ basin, a new aeration grid for the aeration tank, a new set of blowers, a 30% fill fraction of bioFAS™ B-460 MBBR Media Carriers and a chlorine disinfection system.

Status/Results: The bioFAS™ MBBR treatment upgrade effectively removes and reduces the BOD and TSS effluent concentrations down to compliance standards at elevated flow rates.
