The stages of wastewater treatment explained.

In case you might have forgot, water is extremely important! It is necessary for our survival and something all humans, plants, animals, among others, use throughout their daily lives. Without this water - and clean water at that rate - we simply would not be able to exist nor would our plants, animals, and other resources. Pretty scary thought, right?

Yet, we are only human. And humans, along with all of the other living things mentioned above, contaminate the water here on earth, sometimes without even being aware of it. This is a major reason why the process of treating wastewater is crucial so that we can continue to make use of all the water on earth. And like the bioprocessH2O slogan states, we fully believe that everyone should get the most out of their water.

To answer these questions - it is essential to understand the process of wastewater treatment. Wastewater treatment is dedicated to the process of reducing and removing the contaminants from the dirty water. In addition, the treatment works toward changing the water back into reusable water and is then able to be returned into the environment. When conducting the wastewater treatment process, there are typically three main stages that are used.

The three main wastewater treatment stages are:

Primary Treatment:

Secondary Treatment:

Tertiary Treatment:
