bioFLOW Membrane System Treats Hi-Strength Wastewater

BioprocessH2O delivered a 70,000 GPD bioFLOW MBR solids separation system to a customer in Texas to be used in conjunction with a wastewater treatment system treating barge cleaning wastewater. The system consists of a dual train external tubular membrane separation system utilizing cross flow membrane technology.

BioprocessH2O utilizes membranes for solids separation. Membrane construction utilizes high performance polymers such as polyethersulfone and polyvinylidenfluoride.  Within the recirculation loop, mixed liquor (biomass) is pumped under pressure through the membrane bank by the recirculation pump. Under pressure permeate is produced from each membrane module, and the concentrated biomass passes along the inside of the membrane tubes and is returned to the aeration tank/tanks. Permeate will flow from each module to a common collection pipe and into a permeate collection tank. Periodic automated cleaning requires minimal operator intervention.
